It’s been since July 17th. I suppose we’ve been too busy “bein’ Franklin” to write about it. Or perhaps our lives just haven’t been exciting enough to warrant an entry. Nah… that can’t be it.

As I’ve skimmed through the other entries in the blog, I notice a common theme. That is, Timothy’s potty training. I had such high hopes to have him out of diapers by the end of the summer. It didn’t happen, and we’ve really quit trying. He’ll come around when he’s good and ready. He has shown to have quite the stubborn side to him, so there really will be no rushing him there. Maybe we can just wait until Zachary’s a bit older and then we’ll get them both done at the same time. Wouldn’t that be something?

Here’s something only a stay at home mom would think about. Having three young children puts the various stages of child development into focus. Especially when experiencing it for the last (and I do mean last) time. Currently, each of the children are in a difference phase of tooth development. Emily recently lost her first tooth. It had been loose since about mid-August. Her incessant talking about it almost caused her to get the tooth knocked out, but we waited it out until it was ready to be yanked. Well, the day the tooth came out also managed to be the same day that Zachary gained three new teeth. Silly little guy has had two on bottom and one on the upper right side for several weeks. So, now his smile is a more evened out.

Wanting to include the grandparents in the latest development, we took a picture of Emily missing her tooth.

Since we took a picture of Emily, it was imperative that we take a picture of Timothy. After I had taken the picture of Emily, Timothy ran over and declared “my lost tooth too!” Well, as you can see from the picture below, he has not lost a tooth. He is in the stage where he will not gain or lose (hopefully!) any teeth for a bit.

Timothy, being the ever considerate big brother that he is, then decided it was necessary to take a picture of Zachary too. Well, taking a picture of a 9-month-old’s teeth is not an easy feat without distressing the child. It satisfied Timothy for us to get a picture of Zachary enjoying his saucer.

Oh yes, it is exciting around here. There really are more exciting things than teeth and potty training, but that is for another time. So much has happened lately — a trip to London, Emily’s birthday, Timothy’s birthday, Emily’s first day of school….

In the meantime, perhaps we’ll have enough excitement around here to actually document!
