Radical Cartwheels
Posted by mommyfranklin at February 1st, 2009
Well, it’s been two months since my last post. Rather than trying to get caught up and giving a report of our Christmas and New Years celebrations, I am going to just pick up from here. No worries, the holidays were great!
When we moved back to Plainview, Emily decided she wanted to take gymnastics so she could learn to do a cartwheel. She was in ballet when we were here before, but decided she didn’t really want to do that this time around. So, we enrolled her in gymnastics at a place called “Radical Cheer” that is located just down the road from here. She has never taken gymnastics, so she was put into the beginners class. Most of the girls in her class are age 4 & 5. This doesn’t both her a bit. She is having a great time.
To raise money for the competition teams, the school had a fundraiser last night. The kids were encouraged to sell tickets to the barbecue dinner. There was a silent auction, a cake auction, and the kids on the competition teams put themselves on the auction block for ligh housework or babysitting. For us, the highlight was when all the classes did a demonstration of their skills.
Here’s a video of Emily’s class…
Enjoy!
